Q: How can a husband make reduce or cancel the maintenance if it becomes mandatory?

Ans: If the maintenance becomes mandatory to husband, the maintenance can be reduced and can also be cancelled showing the liabilities mentioned below:

 1. Liability of family : The first liability of a person is his parents. Even if a person has real brothers, it can not be said that the parents will be the liability of other brothers.

Although there are brothers ,yet a person has also the share in liability.

The wife is young and educated and can do the job but parents are old and are not abled body, and thus they can not do the job.

If the parents are in government job and retired, the parents will get the pension , and thus if the wife demands maintenance to match the lifestyle of her husband, the parents can also demand to match the lifestyle of his son because the parents looked after their son from his childhood. 

The liabilities of younger brother and sister will also be considered.

The parents are old and younger brother and sister have not completed their education, thus they are dependent on petitioner and the wife is young and completed her education and can do the job, thus she must do the job rather than seeking for maintenance.

2. Self liability:

1. Medical expenses of self.

2. Medical expenses of parents. 

3. House rent , loan , etc are also be considered in self liability. 

4. The liability of parents will also be considered in self liability.

All the documentary evidences of medical expenses and other expenses will be submitted.
